LAYETA BUCOY

Writer

Bucoy is a four-time Don Carlos Palanca Awardee. She earned her degree on MFA in Creative Writing (with high distinction) from De La Salle University and her BA in Communication Arts (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines Los Banos. She has written for the movies Rigodon (Viva Films and Reality Entertainment) and Melodrama Negra (Cinema One Originals), for PsiCom publications (Sopas Muna! Heartbeat Romance Series, True Philippine Ghosts Stories) and for the tabloid Pinoy Parazzi. Some of her mounted stage plays are Sandosenang Sapatos, Doc Resureccion: Gagamutin ang Bayan, Walang Kukurap (Tanghalang Pilipino), and Bona (PETA). She currently teaches at the University of the Philippines Los Banos where she holds the distinction as UP Artist II.
